Hello From Greenville!

January 27th, 2008 by Deanna

Hello Fellow Members and Visitors,

I came away from the Phoenix seminar with such an awesome feeling!!  I met a bunch of new people and visited with old friends.  I learned a lot, laughed a lot, and unfortunately ate a lot too!!  I really love the annual Conferences.  I was amazed once again by the caliber of instructors and participants.

There is one thing that was suggested at the Members Meeting regarding fund raising for AWSDA.  I would like to bring it to every one’s attention since it is something little that any one and every one can do and it benefits AWSDA.  It is "Good Search".  If you use a computer and complete any searches you can earn money for AWSDA.  If you use "Good Search" and put AWSDA in the charity line, Awsda will get a penny for every legitimate search.  I actually have "Good Search" as my home page.  This way,  it is convenient, assessable, and I can’t forget.  I always did searches and never got in the habit of using "Good Search".  This way, it is right in front of me all the time.  I urge you to make "Good Search" your home page but don’t forget to make sure AWSDA is in the charity line.

Additionally, if you order any thing on line, you also can obtain money for Awsda if you go through "Good Search".  Some of the stores are below:

January 26th, 2008 by Bigal

Good Afternoon all

Yesterday I attended a Self Defence Instructor Recertifcation day in the United Kingdom  the Instructor asked was everyone happy to do an 16 hour day or we could do 2 days of 8 hours we all said we were happy to do 16 hours staight ( we had a 15 minute break every hour and a half hour for lunch which was provided)

The Syllabus consisted of the following:

Self Defence and the Law, all new updates on the Law regarding Self Defence,  the new laws coming in regarding Martial Arts  Weapons, The Pre Emptive Strike,

There were 3 Recertification courses

Mens Self Defence Instructor

Womans Self Defence Instructor

Childrens Self Defence Instructor

with the Childrens Self Defence Instructor Recertification everyone had to either have an in date Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Check or apply for a new enhanced CRB Check

also everyone who attended had their insurance checked .

We are pushing this to be done every 2  years in the United Kingdom

Does any other Awsda Instructor recertify and how often  quarterly/ half yearly/1,2,3 yearly

Regards to all
